MSP was set up by guys who have worked in the steel industry their whole lives and put down local roots to build their dream. We’re not a division of a multinational firm or a new gambit by some private equity fund. We’re in steel processing because it’s what we know, what we love and what we’re really good at.
Our objective was to expand MSP until we reached maximum capacity, necessitating expansion within two years. This achievement stemmed from our ability to provide value in toll processing.
This often poses a challenge for companies lacking a fundamental problem-solving mindset. MSP leaders understand the need to look beyond customer orders, to investigate how they use their steel, what their inventory turns are, their most frequent causes of rejects, etc. Using that knowledge, we’ll devise a new program for JIT inventory and logistics, for first stage fabrication of parts, for special protective treatment or packaging of lifts or coils.
It’s what you do when you’re a problem solver at heart and you love the steel business.
